The Story
There is no better way to grasp the sheer scale of the Serengeti than from the basket of a hot air balloon. You'll set off before dawn, rising gently as the first light gilds the grass and the plains stir to life beneath you — elephants, giraffe, and perhaps the long lines of the migration.
After roughly an hour aloft you touch down to a full champagne breakfast laid out in the bush, a safari tradition complete with white linen and a toast to the morning. It's the kind of once-in-a-lifetime hour travellers talk about for years.
